Glamping.........

Back from vacation, finally! We had an adventure flying home with emergency landings and such. A missed connection in Atlanta to cause a vacation extension by a day and did I say I do not like flying. We did have loads of fun, sorry to say not a lot of pictures to follow. I was bad this time at clicking the Fuji on this vacation. I do recommend St. Maarten it was wonderful! I do have some great finds through hours of reading on the plane. First up is the book Julie and Julia by Julie Powell. I'm sure if there are some "self proclaimed foodies" out there, you know the movie is coming out in early fall. It is a great memoir of Julie who decides to cook through Julia Child's book in a year. If you don't mind a few choice words it is excellent!

My next find I think was in a People magazine. It really makes me want to plan my next vacation. The funny thing is I am not that much of a camper, but this looks wonderful. Glamping whoever thought of that was a genius. There are more ideas at www.goglamping.com. These pictures below are from the wonderful www.pawsup.com resort. They also have luxury cabins to stay in. The resort is in Montana and a little pricey. I am off to research other glamping alternatives. Until then my husband is putting the tent up in the backyard for some summer fun.
I could so be kickin' back here with a glass of wine.......
P.S. Can someone please tell me how to link to a website. I had it down on typepad but for the life of me cannot figure out on blogger

  1. I am so glad you had a wonderful time on vacation. I am with you on the flying issue. I like flying as long as I am close to being comatose. I had never heard of glamping and it does look like fun.

When you post, you highlight where you want the link. There is a funny symbol by the text options. Looks kinda like a set of ram horns. If you hover your cursor over it, it says hyperlink. You click that and a text box opens. Type in the address you want to link to (or copy and paste the address) and click ok. Hope that helps!

    Welcome back!

  9. I'm not a camp-girl either, but glamping looks right up my alley! And, by the way, I am in LOVE with the picture at the top of your blog. I think it might be my all-time favorite blog masthead, or whatever the heck it's called. No joke. :)

  10. Bristol - I have to say I've missed you!

So glad you're back from your vacation ... LOVE your new logo, and can't wait to see pics from your trip.

Glamping....I could try that - I've always thought of myself as a hotel/room-service kind of person - but I'm willing to Glamp it for a while! FUN pictures!

    xoxo

  11. What a great way to camp! After you type in the name of the blog in your post, copy the blog address or post you want to link to in another window. On the tool bar there is a small hyperlink symbol, it looks kid of like a little ball with arrows. Click that and then paste your address into the link area. You might have to delete the http:// that is already there if you copied it in the link for it to work. Jen

  13. I'm not fond of flying either, for those exact reasons that you listed. Glad you made it home safe and had a good time. The book (Julie and Julia) was good...except for as you say, the choice words and I am looking forward to the movie. And yep, not a big out door gurl, but I could do some "glamping"....LOL.

  15. Guilty. I'm a glamper. It's the best way I have found to travel, experience nature, and sleep in my own cozy bed!
