Since I did not have time this week to get fresh flowers I threw these together. So easy and it took me all of 15 minutes. I folded my tea dyed coffee filters in an accordian fold and secured with a wire in the middle. When secure pull out each layer of the fold. I attached a bamboo skewer for the stem. Not so fresh, but oh so pretty~I saw this great idea in Midwest Living to use old mailboxes for storage. I always struggle for a place to put mail and I thought this would do the trick. Not having an old mailbox I went 5 minutes down the road for a black mailbox at Lowes. It worked perfect and will do the job until I find a nice old chippy one~

I love these flowers! The derby hat you made with them is just stunning. I've got a lamp that needs some embellishing that I do beleive needs some coffee filter flowers. The mailbox idea is quite cute too.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this!
ReplyDeleteBristol these are precious ideas! My friend is making pom poms out of tea stained coffee filters and circles of vintage sheet music, with circles of tulle and vintage fabric tossed in... sounds funny to describe but she's stringing them together on old ribbon and hanging them like banners at her daughter's wedding.
ReplyDeleteOh, and her daughter isn't getting married. She's not engaged and I am not sure if she is even seeing someone at the moment. But this is a very time consuming decoration and my friend is VERY organized. *wink*
Oh, and the friend is not me. It's not for Loopy and Joe Jonas, it really is a friend of mine.
those are some lovely ideas!!!

Oh and my husband is active duty Army and is serving as a recruiter right now (about to retire). Thank you to you and your husband for his service in the AF and as a policeman!
